We are a two-person type foundry in Rotterdam. We draw variable families for newsrooms, stations, stages and screens, and license them for desktop, web and apps.
Move over the letter to steer its weight and width.
Four families. One font file each.
Hover a name and it changes weight without changing length. That is the width axis doing its job.

What one variable file gives you
A variable font is a single file that holds a whole family. Instead of choosing between Light, Regular and Bold, you set the exact weight you need, then the width, and on some of our families the slant or the contrast.
Your site downloads one file instead of twelve. Headlines can be tuned to fit the column instead of the column being cut to fit the headline. And a brand can pick a weight of 437 because it looks right, not because it was on the menu.

“We moved the whole paper to Norvik Flex in a weekend. The subeditors fit headlines with the width axis now, instead of cutting words.”
Marit Olsen, art director, Noordkaap Dagblad
“Stellan Gothic reads at forty metres on a wet platform. That was the whole brief, and it passed.”
Joris Bakker, wayfinding lead, Studio Perron
“The hairline cut of Tamsin Wide is on every sleeve we have pressed this year.”
Nell Achterberg, creative director, Vloer Records
